A carved alabaster bust of Christ, dating to the 19th century. This is a finely carved bust of Christ with excellent attention to detail, particularly the flowing locks of hair. The piece has a serene presence and is wonderfully posed.

Condition:
A chip/slight damage to the tip of Christ's nose. A larger chip to the front of the robe. Some small minor chips around the edges. Natural flaw/crack within the alabaster that travels through Christ's forehead and top of hair, and another that travels through the front of the robes and partially onto chest. The piece may have been attached to a socle base at some time. Some faint surface marks. Age related wear as expected. Overall good. Please examine photos carefully.
