Oil on canvas and presented in a later (modern) gilt frame. This painting depicts a portrait of a long-haired terrier wearing a bib and seated next to a blue bowl, patiently waiting for dinner to be served. This is an amusing painting that has a lot of charm and good detail. There is a short biography for Florence Wolsey in Dictionary of British Artists 1880 – 1940: “FLORENCE WOLSEY Exhibited from 1893 through 1910. British School. Figure Painter. Lived at Shelford Lodge, Peckham Road, Camberwell, London. Exhibited at Royal British Academy, Royal Hibernian Society, Society of Women Artists.”.

Dimensions:

Picture size: 28cm x 23cm.

Frame size: 40.6cm x 35cm.

Condition:

Patch repair and small area of over painting to the top left side on the dog's head.
